We have all most likely been there, we travelled down a dirt road or off the beaten path on a whim and then...suddenly...we get stuck in mud.
Our first instinct is to attempt, with all of our might, to get the vehicle unstuck.
We do this by rocking the vehicle and driving the it back and forth while turning the wheel repeatedly with the hope that our tires will gain traction.
These common attempts could be costly.
Spinning your tires or switching gears with no movement can cause damage to your vehicle; such as, overheating, loss of tire tread and transmission issues.
So the next time your vehicle gets stuck, and gentle rocking does not do the trick, then it is time to call a tow truck.
However, keeping sand, gravel or even cat litter in your vehicle at all times can come as a cost saver from towing and any long term damage!
