How Much Time Should You Invest In Checking Your Tires Pressure?

Rick Fink's Blog | How Much Time Should You Invest In Checking Your Tires Pressure?

Your vehicle's tires are what keeps you moving.

Their safety is your safety, and knowing the pressure that is (or lack thereof) within your tires can make or break a smooth ride.

You need to make sure that you prevent a serious accident or an inconvenience from a flat tire.

How Much Time Should You Invest In Checking Your Tires Pressure?

You should be checking your vehicle's tire pressure once a month or sooner if you feel a difference in your drive.

As the temperatures differ outside, this can affect the way our tires perform. So be sure to visually check them over and check their pressure with a gauge.

When Is The Best Time To Check Your Tire Pressure?

It is best for you to wait at least three hours once you have parked your vehicle.

This way, your tires will be cooled off enough to provide you an accurate reading.

In addition, do not drive more than one-mile to obtain air at a pump if you plan on rechecking your tire pressure.

Oops, I Overinflated My Tires, Now What?

You definitely do not want to over inflate your tires as it will have them wear out long before they should.

Overinflation can cause the inner tread to wear out prior to the edge treads. It  too can cause loss of traction.

You will need to let the air out slowly by unscrewing the valve cap on the tire. Use the cap to put pressure down on the small rod within the tire valve.

Be sure to use the tire gauge to measure how much air you are letting out.

Hopefully this will help you see that time spent on your vehicle's tire pressure is precious and important to stay on top of your safety.

If you need assistance with this, let me know, we can quickly and easily ensure that your tires are safe.
